Step 2: Choose your Leather

I like to think of Rustic Leather Works also as “Reformed Leather Works” because they literally reformed my Bible into a newer and better Bible with an exquisite leather cover that will last for generations! (The owners of RLW are also Reformed, theologically!) I got the black soft leather goatskin to replace my faux leather cover on my new WM LSB. Their black goat leather is superior, soft and great to hold in the hands; and the Bible lays flat anywhere from Genesis 1:1-Revelation 22:21. Every feature I requested was executed par excellence: The semi-yapp is great on my large Bible (they train the yapp for you so it folds perfectly to cover the pages), the cornering on the inside cover on all four corners are done with master craftsmanship by Mallory; the blind embossings and the 5 hubs on the spine are all added beautifully, and the three new ribbons are wide, strong and placed perfectly. Customer service is excellent as they communicate with you via email every step of the way. Thank you, for the excellent work you do, Michael and Mallory! I’ve already used my Bible to preach the gospel at a funeral, and boy, the new cover does not disappoint!

I previously had RLW rebind an old Spurgeon's Devotional Bible from 1985 and they did a fantastic job. I use it every day.

So when I got a new Life Application Study Bible (it's a BIG Bible) I thought it would be a great improvement to have that thick supple leather to wrap around it. I ordered the Rustic Amber Cowhide with perimeter stitching, the Blue Buttero liner and it's great.

Not only does it look better, but it feels great in the hand, lays flat, and is both sturdier and more flexible than the original. The quality is impeccable and I know this Bible will last me for the rest of my life!
